Arya Samaj, Gurudwara or temple ceremony — and then registered under the
Punjab Compulsory Registration of Marriage Act, 2012, which carries
no notice period. With identity documents, age proof and two witnesses in order, the
whole thing is normally finished within one working day.

capable of giving free consent.

the Senior Superintendent of Police of the district concerned to assess the threat and
provide protection, and these matters are frequently listed within a day or two of
filing.

Mutual consent divorce under Section 13B of the Hindu Marriage Act runs
in two motions with a statutory six-month cooling-off period between them. Following
Amardeep Singh v. Harveen Kaur (Supreme Court, 2017), that period can be waived
where the parties have lived apart for a long time and settlement terms are final. Many
mutual consent files conclude in two to four months.
